Thrifty Group Charges To Learn About Debt

Aug 4th, 2008 | By Rob | Category: credit card debt

The Institute for American Values and the Initiative For a New Thrift have just released their book, For A New Thrift: Confronting the Debt Culture. I went to their website after reading a news article about how the group should be getting more publicity - only to find out that I couldn’t read the book or learn about their recommendations for the future because copies are $7.00. Talk about the irony.

Interested in getting a copy of the report via PDF? Don’t worry - Shipping and Handling will not be charged.

Want to help? Consider buying a thrift captain button (1 for $3.00 or 2 for $5.00) or disseminating (cough … selling) the report in your community.

The Institute, the affiliated groups, and the Members of the Commission on Thrift (who appear to be accomplished and well educated) have some more work to do before they are able to get this nation out of debt. And to do that, they’ll need to stop charging for information about their group’s proposals when they could give it away for free online, get a better platform for a social networking quiz than the one for Do You Know What Thrift Is? (Five Words or Less Per Answer!), and an online payment processing system (you have to download a form and send it to them to order).

Get your copy now - they need all the help they can get.
